Phase 01
Dual-Surface Product Framing
We defined the product split between finance-side web operations and employee-side mobile execution so each surface could focus on the jobs users actually need to complete.
A multi-surface expense management product that combines a public marketing site, subscription-driven web dashboard, company controls, bank connectivity, and an iOS app for receipt capture, transaction review, analytics, and on-the-go expense compliance.
CardTabb is positioned as a fintech expense-management platform for businesses that need tighter control over card-driven spending. The product spans acquisition pages, authenticated company operations, admin and manager workflows, subscription billing, bank integrations, and a dedicated iOS experience for the people actually creating receipts and transactions. The result is a broader spend-governance system rather than a single dashboard or a standalone mobile app.
The Core Challenge
CardTabb needed to close a common operating gap in corporate spend management: finance teams require a structured web layer for oversight, policies, subscriptions, and bank connectivity, while employees need a fast mobile flow for capturing receipts, answering policy questions, and handling transaction follow-up in real time. The product therefore had to span public acquisition pages, OTP-based onboarding, subscription checkout, a role-aware admin dashboard, dynamic expense-policy logic, bank-linking workflows, and a separate iOS receipt and transaction experience without letting the system feel fragmented or operationally heavy.
Our Strategic Solution
We shaped CardTabb as a connected fintech product with two tightly aligned surfaces. On the web side, the platform provides company onboarding, Stripe-backed subscription management, spend analytics, transaction governance, team controls, policy configuration, support handling, and Quiltt-powered bank connections. On iOS, the mobile app focuses on the execution layer: users can review transactions, scan and upload receipts, answer category-specific policy questions, inspect analytics, manage linked payment methods, and stay current through notifications. This split gives finance teams stronger control while keeping day-to-day expense capture practical in the field.
CardTabb connects acquisition, finance operations, compliance capture, and mobile transaction follow-up into a single product story.
Web Ops
Company Command Layer
Admins and managers can review transactions, oversee teams, manage categories and questions, control bank links, and operate subscriptions from one dashboard.
Mobile Flow
Receipt-to-Review
The iOS app is shaped around quick transaction follow-up, receipt OCR, analytics, and account-level actions that happen closest to the spend event.
Compliance
Dynamic Policy Capture
Category-linked questions and shared expense-policy logic keep documentation more consistent without turning the workflow into a bottleneck.
Monetization
Stripe Lifecycle
Plan checkout, coupons, upgrades, invoices, and subscription actions are treated as core product behavior rather than an afterthought.
CardTabb is not only a receipt app. The web platform gives admins and managers a central place to review company spend, inspect operational trends, manage people and categories, answer support activity, and control the policy environment behind every transaction.

Oversight
Spend summaries, transaction review, and export workflows stay centralized.
Policy Layer
Categories, questions, and expense-policy publishing reinforce governance at the dashboard level.
Revenue Flow
Subscription operations, coupons, invoices, and payment-state handling are built into the same admin surface.
iOS screens shown at a readable size so the actual interface details remain visible.
Product value across operations, billing, compliance capture, and mobile execution.
CardTabb covers both finance-team dashboard operations and employee-side mobile receipt execution.
Dynamic categories, policy rules, and approval logic help standardize how transactions are reviewed and documented.
Plan purchase, coupon validation, upgrades, invoices, and subscription lifecycle actions are built into the product.
Connected financial accounts extend the dashboard from static reporting into linked spend operations.
Receipt scanning, question prompts, and uploads make expense capture faster and easier to complete correctly.
Push workflows keep users informed across day-to-day transaction activity and operational follow-up.
Impact Summary
CardTabb turns expense management into one connected operating system instead of a loose mix of finance admin steps and employee follow-up. The web dashboard gives companies oversight of policies, subscriptions, users, transactions, and banks, while the iOS app makes receipt capture and transaction handling fast enough to happen in the moment. That combination reduces policy drift, improves audit readiness, and supports a more disciplined corporate-card workflow across both administrators and spenders.

CardTabb
“Hastree did a strong job translating a fairly complex expense-management workflow into something that feels clear on both the dashboard and the mobile app. The team understood the operational side, moved fast, and delivered a product that feels much more cohesive than the separate pieces we started with.”
A practical, stage-by-stage process shaped to reduce risk, keep stakeholders aligned, and move the project from planning to launch with clarity.
Timeline
Multi-Surface Product Delivery
Steps
5 delivery phases
Phase 01
We defined the product split between finance-side web operations and employee-side mobile execution so each surface could focus on the jobs users actually need to complete.
Phase 02
OTP verification, login recovery, role-aware access, plan browsing, coupon handling, and Stripe-backed subscription flows were structured to support both acquisition and operational continuity.
Phase 03
The web app was organized around analytics, transactions, team controls, policy management, support queues, and bank-link workflows so admins and managers could operate from one command layer.
Phase 04
On iOS, category-based questions, OCR-assisted receipt scanning, transaction history, and reporting workflows were built to reduce the friction of compliance and documentation in everyday usage.
Phase 05
Firebase Messaging, Quiltt bank connectivity, export flows, notification handling, and multi-format financial workflows were aligned into a production-ready fintech stack across web and mobile.
